Last week’s show was advertised as a Thanksgiving-themed show because it was assumed that contrarian Americans who dislike their families (and America) would skip on up to Montreal for a debaucherous weekend of poutine and maple-flavoured alcholized beer. “Stupid Canadians!”, some of you are saying “You don’t even know when our most important tradition goes down!”. That’s true, but cut us some slack. We know a lot about you, with your apple pies & rights to bear arms. Forgive us, and come laugh with our comics, and one of your own!
This week’s headliner is – as you say in America – en FUEGO! Rodney Ramsey‘s been tearing up a bunch of stages with a lot of new material that’s as good as anything out there. He’s done Just For Laughs, CBC’s Debaters, and produces a hell of a lot of amazing shows around Montreal and across Canada.
Your host has a fetish for spice racks. He has none of his own, but Jon Selig will act really oddly around yours. He’ll be on the Comedy Nest’s Young Guns of Comedy (January 2 & 3 at the Comedy Nest), and recently returned from performing in San Diego.
Also on the show: Francois Toussignant! Nour Hadidi! Peter J. Radomski! Leonard Yelle! Mike Carrozza! And all the way from New York City, Atheer Yacoub!
Happy hour is at 7:15 ($10 pitchers, $4 pints, $3 drinks). Show’s at 8:15pm, Sunday night. Come in, sit down, and settle in for some drinks. Once the show starts, pitchers are just $12, pints & drinks rise by a buck. That’s pretty sweet, right? Enjoy the show! Later on, a hat will come around, and we’d love a donation of $8-10, but pay-what-you-think or can.
1245 rue St. Andre (back entrance) is the address. If you’re an STM kinda person, get off at Metro Berri UQAM
